"Green" Building & Energy Saving Options

LEED or the NAHB National Green Building Standard have Program Points available for using wall panels, floor and roof trusses, and our products may qualify for points in other "green" programs:
·Framing efficiencies (LEED: up to 3 points) ·Off-site fabrication of building components (LEED up to 4 points) ·Environmentally preferable products, for local production (LEED up to 2 points) ·Construction waste reduction for using manufactured wood components (LEED up to 3 points) (NAHB: 6 points) ·LEED’s: FSC Certified wood; 1 to 2 points. NOTE: Using FSC wood costs approximately 35% more ·NAHB National Green Building Standard, reducing quantity of materials and waste by using pre-assembled building systems can earn you 4 points per floor, wall and roof system, 4 points for roof overhangs, and 3 points each for using resource-efficient roof or floor trusses.
These are the main sources of program points for using our products; there may be other sources and we would be happy to assist you with your “green” project questions. In the LEED program, there are up to 5 points available for using wood components in new construction, and up to 11 points with LEED for Homes. There are a potential 51 points available for using wood components through the NAHB National Green Building Standard.
